The new NHP website is officially live and kicking! What a rollercoaster of a project it has been, but hey, we made it! Take a gander at all the snazzy new additions and components we've cooked up. But first, let's give a round of applause to TinCup for steering this ship and delivering some seriously crisp content. Kudos, Cobus!

Now, let's dive in, shall we? Since we've dabbled in medical aid websites before, we had to channel our inner Picasso and think way outside the proverbial box to ensure we weren't just recycling old ideas. Our brainstorming sessions were wilder than a Netflix comedy special.

Our first stroke of genius? Swapping out colors and graphics for vibrant "personalities" representing each benefit option. Now, your dental plan might be endorsed by a grinning tooth fairy or a smiling dentist.

But wait, there's more! We've jazzed up the site with nifty search features, making it easier than ever to find what you need. Say goodbye to endless scrolling through tables like it's a marathon when you are browsing benefit Major medical expense limits and Day-to-day medical expense limits. Just type in a keyword like "hospital" and boom, there's your pre-authorization request form, ready to rock.

And let's not forget the numbers game. We've got stats that'll make your head spin (in a good way). With 38,772 members, 80,082 beneficiaries, and a growth rate that's climbing faster than a squirrel on caffeine, NHP is where it's at.

Alongside our flashy new features, we've beefed up the tried-and-true favorites like Compare Benefits and the Benefit Calculator. Think of them as the reliable sidekicks in this superhero lineup of website upgrades. Need to weigh your options? Compare Benefits has got your back. Crunching numbers? Benefit Calculator is on the case. They may not have capes, but they're heroes in their own right. So go ahead, give 'em a spin and see how they make navigating the insurance maze a breeze!

And hold onto your hats, folks, because we've had one more trick up our sleeve! We hosted a one-of-a-kind, session-based website launch competition. Picture this: visitors scouring the site like treasure hunters, on the hunt for medical aid-related emojis hidden throughout. It was like a digital scavenger hunt, and boy, did it get hearts racing - With over 800 eager participants joining the fun over a two-week span, the competition was hotter than a jalapeño eating contest. Our competition component then swooped in like a benevolent genie and randomly selected three lucky winners on end of competition. And what did they win, you ask? NHP hampers packed to the brim with goodies, of course! Because who says insurance can't be fun, right?

But the real star of the show? Our CMS. We've given it a makeover worthy of a Hollywood red carpet montage. From document management tools that'll make your life easier when adding them to pages to banner systems with more options than a dungeons and dragons game, we're taking CMS to a whole new level. Nadja deserves a medal for these changes. Can't wait to unleash this beast on all our future projects!

What we delivered:

A clean, modern design – not the kind that makes you question whether the law even allows style.
All-new staff photography, because every trusted face deserves a sharp headshot to match its credentials.
The services are written in plain English, not buried in legal jargon, covering labour law, civil litigation, debt collection, and commercial representation.
Detailed biographies for the team, reminding you these are real people, even if they know how to argue rules for a living.
A dynamic Articles feed where the partners and shareholders share their insights.
Empower Yourself – a sleek resource hub with case studies, Superior Court labour rulings, and external tools to help you learn and act before picking up the phone to a lawyer.

This site is all about clarity, confidence, and control, crafted for professionals, by professionals (with camera in hand).

Heinitzburg Boutique Hotel

Another release from the Asylum. Another release from the Asylum. This time, royalty booked a room.

We’ve just launched the new website for Heinitzburg, one of Namibia’s most iconic properties, now with a digital presence that finally lives up to the view.

The old site was a relic. Fixed-width. Pre-smartphone. Well past checkout time. We stepped in with clean design, digital care, and a soft spot for luxury detail.

Here’s what we prescribed:

Interactive virtual tours built straight into the room banners, because still photos only get you so far
A custom menu system so the team can update wine and dining info without phoning IT or losing their minds
Dual-language support, because not everyone hears voices in the same language
A bold video banner for that dramatic first impression (video credit goes elsewhere, but the rest is locked down in our padded cell)
A fully responsive design that behaves itself on every screen, no matter what you're hiding from on it
Randomized footer and side nav images, because we believe even the visuals should have a mind of their own. You never see the same thing twice, unless you refresh obsessively. We won't judge.

We also handled the room photography, making sure what you see on the site actually reflects what you get in real life, which, for Heinitzburg, is saying something.

e.power

We’re proud to launch the fully custom-designed and developed website for e.power, Namibia’s go-to experts in generator rentals, solar solutions, and serious electrical know-how.

This isn’t your average plug-and-play setup. We built a fully custom CMS from the ground up, giving the client full control to manage and showcase their projects in real time. And when it comes to enquiries, we added role-based routing. Rental and Parts requests are automatically directed to the right people with the right email addresses, making the entire process smooth and efficient without any manual forwarding.

From concept to code, this site is as sharp, solid, and reliable as the services e.power delivers in real life.

Association of Consulting Engineers of Namibia

We're thrilled to announce one of our biggest projects to date: ACEN.com.na. This isn't just a website - it's a complete digital overhaul of the membership management process for the Association of Consulting Engineers of Namibia, designed to eliminate mountains of paperwork and endless email chains.

What started as a simple logo design (with letterhead and email signature) and a revamp of the old site quickly evolved into a dynamic platform that gives every ACEN member their own microsite. Members can now easily upload their logo, add a short description, provide contact details, and showcase their engineering disciplines and skills - all managed internally with ease.

As the project progressed, ACEN decided to automate their membership process with an interactive form. Here’s how it works:

Membership Registration: Firms input all their essential details, including the number of engineering technicians and professionals they employ - which directly determines their annual membership fee.
Intern Rebate: Members can submit the names and contact details of their interns, which then grants them a rebate on their yearly subscription. This feature not only makes membership more affordable but also supports the development of future generations of engineers.

Proposer & Seconder Confirmation: To validate new memberships, the registering firm must select a proposer and a seconder - both existing ACEN members. These trusted peers simply confirm their willingness to endorse the new member, allowing the registration to proceed.

Revision Status: Once endorsed, the application moves into a revision phase. Here, ACEN administrators meticulously review all the details and uploaded documents (like ECN licenses and firm registrations). They can leave comments on specific fields (say, if a street address is misspelled) or request document revisions, ensuring that every detail meets their high standards.

Payment Portal: After approval, the registration advances to the payment stage. Members pay their yearly membership fee via an online payment gateway, and invoices are available for download. Once payment is confirmed, the microsite is fully activated - allowing members to access real-time statistics on profile views and interactions, check membership expiry dates, and more.

The website itself features a user-friendly member search and a dedicated page for exploring engineering disciplines alongside the corresponding member profiles.

ACEN.com.na is a testament to Asylum's capabilities in developing web-based management software that streamlines complex processes and brings the full convenience of the digital age to membership management. We’re proud to have built a platform that not only meets today’s needs but is also set up for the future.

HPCNA

We’ve just wrapped up another website, and this time it’s for the Health Professions Councils of Namibia (HPCNA) at hpcna.com. This isn’t just any website—it’s a streamlined hub packed with functionality and designed to make browsing a breeze.

First off, we built a user-friendly vertical navigation that shows you exactly where you are at all times. It features a click-to-expand sub-navigation that stays open as you dive deeper into the site, making it ridiculously easy to explore the many resources available.

Speaking of resources, the site is loaded with hundreds of legislation documents, application forms, and online forms to collect and manage member information digitally—no more paper chaos! And let’s not forget the e-register, which we’ve turbocharged with improved speed and usability. Now, you can easily access information on every registered health care professional in the country without breaking a sweat.

Roof of Africa

We’re beyond excited to announce the latest rendition of the Roof of Africa website, and let’s just say, this isn’t your average refresh—this is a full-blown digital makeover! The old website was good, but with Roof of Africa growing by leaps and bounds, it just wasn’t cutting it anymore. So, we stepped in, handled the entire photography, and made sure their new site is as impressive as the hotel itself.

Let’s be real—did you know Roof of Africa has a craft brewery on tap? Yeah, most people didn’t. But now, beer lovers can rejoice because some of the best brews in Namibia are waiting for you. And it doesn’t stop there—they’ve got a pool and a sauna where guests can relax in style. Oh, and did we mention they recently opened another restaurant at the FNCC? Because they did, and the old website couldn’t even begin to showcase all this awesomeness.

Now, with our fresh new design (and stunning photos we shot), everything is laid out clearly and simply in the main navigation. Trust us, everyone who’s seen the new site had the same reaction: “I didn’t know they had/did that!”—which, to me, is the ultimate win. It means we’ve succeeded in making sure all of Roof of Africa’s hidden gems are front and center.

And while the new site is a triumph, there’s still one more thing we’re working on for Roof of Africa that I’m super excited about... but more on that very soon! Stay tuned!

Barkhan Dune Retreat 2023

Up until now, our responsibility at Barkhan Dune Retreat has encompassed capturing all the photography. However, we often felt a vital component was absent from our shots - the presence of people. Consequently, we were graciously invited to Barkhan Dune Retreat not only to photograph the rooms, facilities, and activities, but also to showcase the inclusion of individuals within these captivating frames. Furthermore, our task entailed capturing images of the recently unveiled KuanguKuangu, an opulent self-catering unit majestically perched atop a mountain peak.
