Website Design & Development
Web is an ever changing industry, which is why your website should be on par with or better than interantional standards to get the best return of investement ot of it.
Roof of Africa
We’re beyond excited to announce the latest rendition of the Roof of Africa website, and let’s just say, this isn’t your average refresh—this is a full-blown digital makeover! The old website was good, but with Roof of Africa growing by leaps and bounds, it just wasn’t cutting it anymore. So, we stepped in, handled the entire photography, and made sure their new site is as impressive as the hotel itself.
Let’s be real—did you know Roof of Africa has a craft brewery on tap? Yeah, most people didn’t. But now, beer lovers can rejoice because some of the best brews in Namibia are waiting for you. And it doesn’t stop there—they’ve got a pool and a sauna where guests can relax in style. Oh, and did we mention they recently opened another restaurant at the FNCC? Because they did, and the old website couldn’t even begin to showcase all this awesomeness.
Now, with our fresh new design (and stunning photos we shot), everything is laid out clearly and simply in the main navigation. Trust us, everyone who’s seen the new site had the same reaction: “I didn’t know they had/did that!”—which, to me, is the ultimate win. It means we’ve succeeded in making sure all of Roof of Africa’s hidden gems are front and center.
And while the new site is a triumph, there’s still one more thing we’re working on for Roof of Africa that I’m super excited about... but more on that very soon! Stay tuned!

Schonfeld Safaris
We’re excited to present the freshly revamped Schoenfeld Safaris website, and this one is packed with some really cool features!
First up, we made sure there’s a clear separation between the hunting and accommodation sections, so visitors can easily navigate between the two without any confusion. Whether you’re booking a hunting adventure or just looking for a luxury getaway, everything’s easy to find.
We also ensured the site is dual-language, available in both German and English, catering perfectly to Schoenfeld’s international clientele.
Another feature we had a little fun with are the randomized images: every time you visit the home page, you’ll see something new! It keeps the experience fresh and gives a dynamic touch to each visit. And let’s not forget about the unique plant and floral elements that appear randomly on all headings, adding a beautiful natural /vintage vibe throughout the site.
So, not only does the site look stunning, but it’s also designed for longevity, just like the previous version - except this one’s even better!

Granietkop Campsite
Here's a quick sideline project we recently tackled: a one-page website for Granietkop Campsite. Owned by the Doro !Nawas Conservancy, a Namibian community-run organization, this campsite is the proud guardian of a huge stretch of pristine land. The site includes all the essentials—like handy NAD to EURO and USD converters and Google Maps direction links.
This project didn’t just stop at a website. We also whipped up a snazzy logo, a detailed fact sheet, and a rate sheet. Ventures like Granietkop Campsite, along with other local gems like Ultimate Safaris’ ONDULI RIDGE and ONDULI ENCLAVE, are vital in boosting rural development, creating jobs, and conserving this beautiful area. So, if you’re looking for an adventure that supports the local community and lets you enjoy nature, Granietkop is your spot!

Namibia Health Plan
The new NHP website is officially live and kicking! What a rollercoaster of a project it has been, but hey, we made it! Take a gander at all the snazzy new additions and components we've cooked up. But first, let's give a round of applause to TinCup for steering this ship and delivering some seriously crisp content. Kudos, Cobus!
Now, let's dive in, shall we? Since we've dabbled in medical aid websites before, we had to channel our inner Picasso and think way outside the proverbial box to ensure we weren't just recycling old ideas. Our brainstorming sessions were wilder than a Netflix comedy special.
Our first stroke of genius? Swapping out colors and graphics for vibrant "personalities" representing each benefit option. Now, your dental plan might be endorsed by a grinning tooth fairy or a smiling dentist.
But wait, there's more! We've jazzed up the site with nifty search features, making it easier than ever to find what you need. Say goodbye to endless scrolling through tables like it's a marathon when you are browsing benefit Major medical expense limits and Day-to-day medical expense limits. Just type in a keyword like "hospital" and boom, there's your pre-authorization request form, ready to rock.
And let's not forget the numbers game. We've got stats that'll make your head spin (in a good way). With 38,772 members, 80,082 beneficiaries, and a growth rate that's climbing faster than a squirrel on caffeine, NHP is where it's at.
Alongside our flashy new features, we've beefed up the tried-and-true favorites like Compare Benefits and the Benefit Calculator. Think of them as the reliable sidekicks in this superhero lineup of website upgrades. Need to weigh your options? Compare Benefits has got your back. Crunching numbers? Benefit Calculator is on the case. They may not have capes, but they're heroes in their own right. So go ahead, give 'em a spin and see how they make navigating the insurance maze a breeze!
So there you have it, folks. The new NHP website: where innovation meets insurance. Go ahead, take it for a spin. Just don't blame us if you get addicted to browsing insurance plans. It's a wild ride, but hey, someone's gotta do it!

Amazing Trails
Drumroll, please! After what feels like an eternity of tinkering and tweaking we're thrilled to announce the grand debut of the Amazing Trails website! Cue the confetti cannons and the marching band, because this site is ready to rock your outdoor-loving socks off.
What's all the fuss about, you ask? Well, picture this: a digital wonderland packed to the brim with hiking, biking, and running trails galore. And we're not talking your run-of-the-mill paths here. We've got trails that'll make your heart race and your Instagram followers green with envy. Plus, we've thrown in some fancy KMZ files to show off those trails in all their glory on Google Maps. It's like having a personal tour guide in your pocket, minus the awkward small talk.
But wait, there's more! Strap on your adventure boots, because this website isn't just about pretty pictures of trails. Oh no, we've gone above and beyond to make it a hub of outdoor excitement. Think activities, events, and all-around trail-tastic goodness, served up on a silver platter of membership perks.
And here's the cherry on top: as a bonus for our beloved members, we've whipped up a little something extra. We're talking statistics, folks. We're tracking every click, every visit, and every button mash within the website's labyrinth of trails and member microsites. It's like having your own personal data guru, but way cooler.
So, if you've got trails to flaunt and adventures to share, look no further than Amazing Trails. Consider us your one-stop-shop for all things outdoor escapades. Whether you're a seasoned trailblazer or a newbie in need of some fresh air, we've got you covered. So lace up those boots, grab your water bottle, and let's hit the trails! Adventure awaits, and it's calling your name.

Emcon Consulting Group
Introducing another captivating project that offers enhanced functionality to streamline website navigation for visitors. This project is designed to provide an effortless user experience, ensuring a user-friendly journey. In essence, our custom CMS empowers website owners to create projects and select the specific services offered within each project. This selection enables visitors to navigate directly to the desired service and explore detailed information about it.
Through the implementation of "cross-linking," we have made the website journey significantly easier and more convenient for visitors. For instance, when a visitor explores a particular project, they will find a list of services associated with that project. These services are clickable, allowing the visitor to access additional information about the service itself and discover other projects where the service has been provided.
Ultimately, this guided journey of information ensures a seamless and engaging experience for visitors. Without the incorporation of cross-linking, this journey would be far less convenient and considerably shorter-lived.

Ugab Game Farm and Lodge
In November 2022 Ugab Game Farm and Lodge contracted us to design and develop their website. The lodge was newly established and partially still in construction, thus all we had to work with was a logo, but in the shortest time we planned a trip to the beautiful Damaraland and within a week we shot all the photography, virtual tours, time lapses, drone footage, ... etc. seen on the website. This visit was all we needed to inspire us with the design of the website.
This week was so action packed, filled with game drives early in the morning and late in the afternoon, seeing antelope species I didn't know existed, directing a bunch or tourists who we borrowed from a nearby lodge to model for the photos and drives, making fires and the typical early mornings for the Golden hour photos, also known as the "Money Shots"! :D
That was a busy week and I think it definitely payed off. Again, thank you for a great week and for the opportunity to let us show what Asylum is capable of.
I think we ended up with a stunning product with a ton of variety in media and interactivity.

Collexia Beyond Payments
Collexia is live! What a fun design to work on.
Traditionally websites have a horizontal navigation, but this comes with the drawback of having limited space for the needed navigation. It is the responsibility of the designer to get as much information to get a good feeling of how big the navigation might be, and in this case it was just a little more than usual.
The client handed me a few brochures and a corporate profile, which both had Dunes and the Hexagon shapes in the design. Which is exactly why i used these in the website design:
- The hexagon graphics as frames for the people profile pictures, news and info-graphics.
- The Dunes with the parallax filling the white space for a seamless full-viewport page design and a sense of depth.
This full-viewport design pushed the content area into a manageable with which makes text much more legible and the 16:9 images scale quite perfectly.
As for the client, well, they were awesome! Friendly and understandable when it came to more information I needed to "fill" the website with ... yes, content. 😃
All in all, I really love how this turned out! I am looking forward to expand the website with upcoming additions!

Lewfin America LLC
Our first website based in America! Lewfin contacted us to create a short term loan / personal loan website for one of their American branches. The website is quite a small one, with only 6 pages, but from a design perspective we did our best to accommodate the available content. At least now Lewfin will have a good starting point and the possibility to expand into many more pages.

Deepcatch Holdings Namibia
We design and developed the Deepcatch Namibia Holdings website and with it came a complex interlinking concept where the client will be maintaining all the news and contact details from one website. Deepcatch Namibia Holdings consists of numerous companies spread over 5 divisions which in return will become a nightmare to maintain all the news and contact details throughout all the websites, which is why we prepared the Deepcatch Namibia Holdings website to act as a hub for all the other websites. Traditionally the client would need to log into each and every CMS to change the contact details and maintaining their news, but with this interlinking they will only need to do this once. We are looking forward to the next project with Deepcatch Namibia Holdings.

Namibia National Olympic Committee
We feel honored that we have been the chosen website design and development company to revamp the Namibia National Olympic Committee website. I must say this was a fun one, since we used CSS trickery to give elements a skew edge instead of the usual horizontal straight lines. The original Olympic chains also gave us a few playful colors we applied all over the website.

Saager Aircool CC
This is a website for Saager Aircool CC, a HVAC system provider in Namibia. The website is a static website execution, meaning that we only developed the front-end without a content management system which allows the customer to maintain their website. The content management system will most likely be implemented at a later stage, but right now this is more than enough for the client.
We also implemented our first snow effect within the banner of the website. This is something quite unusual for a Namibian website, since it rarely snows in Namibia, but completely relevant to the air conditioning industry

Copper & Coal Distillery Namibia
If you are 18 and above and you love Namibian Crafted Gins and Vodkas then you should take a moment and have a gander at our latest website ... and its products, obviously!
This site comes with a fully functional shopping cart that allows you to set up an order with Copper & Coal Distillery Namibia, no matter if you are an Individual or a Supplier. The shopping cart will magically calculate the discounts on certain items if they are bought in bulk, well, its not really magic, its just developer mastery... But I digress - the website also has a membership based service called the Copper Craft Club where you receive beautifully packaged and branded gift baskets of Namibian products every 2 months. On top of that they also have services such as online application forms for Gift Vouchers, Loyalty Cards, Corporate Gifts ... etc.
If you are an esteemed website designer, then there are some design elements worth checking out - especially the vertical lines that connect the headers of the content with the end of the content (if that makes sense), also the randomly generated gallery images that tease the visitor with a fresh set of 10 images every time the page is reloaded or changed and last but not least the subtle watermark images behind most headings that are also randomly generated.
What can I say, I'm proud of my Asylum team in rehabilitating yet another website!

Front-end development for the online auctions of Aucor Namibia. For this project we went through all possible auction websites around the globe and combined the most important features with additional value added and user friendly add-ons which make it easy to keep track of your auctions and as well as lot items. One of the best features is, that you can search for items with certain tags ... i.e. if you are looking for a fridge, you can look for all fridges within all auctions at the same time and then take it from there. Sadly this front-end has not been integrated with the back-end, but I am sure it will be soon!

It has a user friendly content management system that allows the customer to maintain all areas of the website with seconds. The website's main custom feature is the relationship of all projects, product categories, product sub-categories, brands and products, which makes it very easy to maintain current pages as well as the support of an online store in near future. We have designed and developed an interactive educational tour of the brewing process of Namibian Breweries Limited. The project includes virtual tours that allow you to walk around on the premises and click on certain machines and equipment to read more about its function in the brewing process or watch a video that takes you inside the machines. In this project we took the idea of a virtual tour and turned it into an information hub. Too bad we cannot make it public, for you to see, it was meant for internal use only.

Ultimate Safaris
Feast your eyes on our new FLAGSHIP website cruising above all tourism websites in Namibia! 😆 I present to you Ultimate Safaris. www.ultimatesafaris.na
About 11 Years ago I had my first meeting with Tristan Cowley from Ultimate Safaris and since then I have been doing their website and most of their branding - book covers, luggage tags, flyers, water bottles, corporate gifts, socks, aprons, the 10 year bash, etc. ... you name it, I was there for them and helped with the graphics! We occasionally fought, especially when it comes to using capital letters or not, but we never gave up on each other and look where it got us today - this website! We are so proud of this!
This website is the most custom solution we have ever built for a client - a choice of 3 pre-footer content sections, linking youtube videos, uploading your own HTML5 videos, scheduled tour calendars, mozaic galleries, parallaxes, animated counters, numerous JS animations and calculations and last but not least - loads of elephant skin backgrounds 👍... I mean just go and look at the pages e.g.:
- https://ultimatesafaris.na/safaris/scheduled-group/ultimate-namibia-safari or
- https://ultimatesafaris.na/our-camps/private-retreats/the-nest-at-sossus, Its beautiful!
But ... I will have to add, Tristan and I we sat hours, days, weeks, grinding on the layout, making sure there is as little white space as possible, statically building fully fledged pages so that we can see how it would look like and perform on different devices, giving us challenges we have never faced before, ... without all of this, and the spectacular imagery, video footage and Spitzenklasse written content and last and in no way least, Nurse Nadja's exceptional skills in development the website would not have been as nice as it is.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Tristan once again, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming projects we are working on! "To the best Tour Operator in Namibia!"
Oh and before I forget: We also built a small attendance register that allows the front desk to have an overview of the people currently in the office. If someone leaves the office for coffee, a meeting or annual leave, they add the event minutes before the occurrence or schedule it ahead of the time. There is nothing worse than having the receptionist put you through to a phone that is never answered, or tell you that she does not know where the person is.

FCS Namibia
Once again we have outdone ourselves with the website of FCS - Financial Consulting Services. Apart from all the usual magic, we added features such as, getting detailed information on the training courses happening at FCS in Windhoek, Swakopmund and Walvis bay and getting all the documentation online required for booking your course!
A conference room booking system that allows the visitor to book a conference room, in Windhoek, Swakopmund, and Walvis Bay for a specific date and for up to 30 people, from the comfort of his lounge chair at home. The website administrator automatically gets an email notification that there was a booking made. If the booking does not conflict with another, its just a press of a button to approve the booking and notify the visitor. There is also a calendar that shows the admin how the week / month according to bookings.
Calculators! If you like online calculators that calculate your Income TAX, Payments, Capital, Repayment Period, Estimated Bond Registration Fee, Transfer Duties, Sale Member Interest, Stamp Duties, then this is the site of your dreams!
And if that wasn't enough, there is a client rating page where the client can rate FCS with up to 6 stars! I'm telling you, 5 stars are old school!

Apart from just their they have an automated quote and booking system we developed that allows the agents to get costing in their own time / timezone. These quotes automatically adjust the pricing according to high or low season rates and can be converted into fixed bookings. Up until now, our responsibility at Barkhan Dune Retreat has encompassed capturing all the photography. However, we often felt a vital component was absent from our shots - the presence of people. Consequently, we were graciously invited to Barkhan Dune Retreat not only to photograph the rooms, facilities, and activities, but also to showcase the inclusion of individuals within these captivating frames. Furthermore, our task entailed capturing images of the recently unveiled KuanguKuangu, an opulent self-catering unit majestically perched atop a mountain peak.

The linen of the king sized double beds are made of Egyptian cotton and the rooms have a magnificent view on to the waterhole where a vast variety of animals roam and feed.
They offer lengthy Nature / Game Drives in the shadows of majestic trees growing in the Ugab river. Medical Imaging requested us to take photos for every service category on their website. This was a super fun shoot, since the staff at Roman Catholic Hospital and Mediclinic are extremely friendly and photogenic. Lighting and space in the hospital is a real challenge, which is why some of the images look distorted and or the white balance is off.
Taking photos of the MRI machine was a nightmare considering if I get too close it will suck my camera into the magnetic field and damage the multi million dollar machine, or it will simply corrupt all my photos on the SD card. That was quite worrying to say the least.
We are also doing the website which is still in the works, but these photos will replace the stock photography they are currently using on their website.

NamPower Virtual Tour
NamPower Anixas II Power Station Walvis Bay
The Coronavirus pandemic brough a lot of challenges for businesses as movement was restricted, travel was banned - thus companies could not operate businesses as usual anymore. Which is why we were contracted to create a virtual tour for NamPower which allows prospective bidders to walk around the NamPower site on which the future Anixas II power station is planned and interactively find out more about the site and Project requirements. This site is also home to the existing Anixas power station and the now decommissioned Paratus power stations.
This responsive 66 scene virtual tour walk through takes the user through all the most important areas, which are usually quite difficult to reach and or take time and planning to visit, from the comfort of their home or office. With about 30 hot-spots ranging from simple text, images, and photoshopped infographics that pop up when interacting with them, the virtual tour isn't just visually interactive, but also informative. On top of that we added custom graphics over certain areas which aided in the illustration of i.e. structures to be demolished, the passing of certain lines ... etc.
Due to the sensitivity of information we will not be able to demo or show much more than what you see here now.

Additionally all the virtual tours are 50megapixels large and were shot in HDR to ensure the maximum detail in highlights (bright areas) and shadows (dark areas). The software is fully responsive and automatically detects the resolution of your device to avoid unwanted bandwidth consumption.
The virtual tour software runs online as well as offline, which is highly beneficial when the client showcases their product on a touch screen or laptop at an expo with limited or no internet access.

Namibia Breweries Limited
We have designed and developed an interactive educational tour of the brewing process of Namibian Breweries Limited. The project includes virtual tours that allow you to walk around on the premises and click on certain machines and equipment to read more about its function in the brewing process or watch a video that takes you inside the machines. In this project we took the idea of a virtual tour and turned it into an information hub. Too bad we cannot make it public, for you to see, it was meant for internal use only.
