We’re thrilled to unveil the new website for the Namibia Film Commission (NFC), your one-stop shop for all things cinematic in Namibia. The NFC is on a mission to support, encourage, and promote the booming film industry here in Namibia. They’re all about creating a thriving environment for filmmakers while boosting economic development, celebrating cultural expression, and advancing Namibia's creative industries.

Now, let's talk about the shiny new features we've added to the NFC website. First up, we've gone fully digital with all forms. Yes, you heard that right - all funding and bursary forms can now be completed online. But the pièce de résistance? You can now apply and pay for film permits online too!

Here’s the scoop: First, you register and create either a local or a facilitator account. Facilitators, for those in the know, are the gatekeepers for any foreign productions happening in Namibia. They apply for permits to film at Namibia’s stunning locations, and now, they can do it all online using our secure payment gateway.

But wait, there’s more! The accounts and permits application processes now include nifty reviewing steps where NFC admins can leave comments on every field within a form. So, if a facilitator makes a spelling mistake or uploads the wrong document, the admin can simply comment on the error and send it back for correction - no need to start the process from scratch. It’s all about making things smoother, faster, and way less frustrating.

Once the reviewing is done, the permit or account undergoes multiple steps and statuses, going back and forth between the NFC and facilitator with instant email notifications of any changes. This includes declaration of correct information, online payment, signature by the commissioner, and finally, the issuing of the permit. All of this is done digitally and with full transparency.

I applaud NFC for taking this journey with us and digitizing their services. It’s a bold and brave step, but it pays off with the convenience, data storage, and the insightful reports that can be pulled from this data. After all, it was inevitable, since everything is going digital at some point in time.

So, whether you're a budding filmmaker or a seasoned pro, the NFC's new website is here to make your life easier. Dive in, explore, and let’s make some movie magic in Namibia!
